28 Days of Being Thankful - 2010

Back to the leaf-business!!!
We have been totally out of our rhythm since little Jakob left us lonely here in Cali ;(
So today I better send a tally of the recent leaves the Ls made.

11/11/10
L was thankful for Food:
"because we have lots of broccoli soup and hot chocolate and the kids in Africa have only nothing."
L was also thankful for Jakob:
"because he is so cute and polite" :)
Lulu was "cant-you for Jakob and Anke and so sad cause I lobe them and I miss them and they walked to the line about (without) me." (walked to the line = security check at the airport :)

11/12/10
L was thankful for Clothes and Shoes:
"because we have warm clothes and rain boots and the poor people in Africa have no shoes and no diaper wipes" (to explain the Africa theme ... we watched "Babies" with the Ls, a documentary about 4 kids during their first year of life in 4 different areas of the world, one being Africa. A great show!!! Very eye opening!!!
Lulu was thankful for "no cant you today, I just want to make a leaf." ???

11/13/10
L was thankful for Web Cams:
"because they let me see Papa in Singapore (but he looks funny and slow on the computer TV :) and so I can see my Omi and GP and GM.
Lulu ... no participation today. She has been in a VERY grumpy sate since her little "brother" left her and her Papa left.

11/14/11
L was thankful for Houses:
"because Hector's house burned down one day and then he didn't have one anymore and he had to sleep in his car." (Hector goes in L's class and is a cool, little man!!!)
Lulu ... just a leaf ... but no "cant you" :( ... poor Issie is soooo sad these days :(:(:(

L was thankful for Great Grandma:
"because she is like Grandma just with a "Great" in it and I like her and she is nice!"
Lulu was cant you you for German School and my teacher and my friends. (yeahhhh ... she actually participated again!!!)

I am thankful today for a wonderful weekend with my wonderful Ls.
We just took it slow and enjoyed the wonderful weather, play time, leaf making, reading and nightly walks with our Laternen.
We took Ed for a walk last night after it got dark and walked with the Laternen through the neighborhood, sang the german songs and probably scared a neighbor or two with our wonderful yodeling :)

I am also thankful that L's baby tooth does not have to be pulled and she can experience the tooth fairy "thing" just like other kids.
We thought it needed to be pulled since the new tooth is growing in from behind but the dentist said it doesn't matter if we pull it or not ... the outcome, most likely braces later on :(  ,will be the same.

L was thankful for cars today (I asked her if there was an invention she'd be thankful for).
"Because they bring us places far away like DL and we don't have to walk and we can put a Christmas Tree up on top."

Lulu was "cant'you  for Ballet".
I know, it's a repeat "thankfuller" since she already was thankful for Ballet last week, but then one can never be thankful enough for Early Prima Ballerina Training, right ;)

I am very hard trying to get back into the daily "Thankful" posts but running after Jakob in his princess dresses and high heels is taking way too much time away from my blogging efforts :)

Anyhow, I am proud to report that the leave count is current and our window is full with colorful creations of the three little people of the house.

It looks so cool!!!

L was thankful for the sky, because it gives us time to sleep at night and time to learn at day and it always looks pretty and the angels live in the clouds.

L was thankful for her sleepover, uncle Chris and auntie Judy and her best Jay-Jay and for the Italian restaurant.

Lulu was "cant you for baby Carter" (sorry Suz, he'll be called baby C forever I fear ;);
"cause I am his BIG cousint, but I really still little" (because she LOVES everything little!!).
L was thankful for baby Maya. Well, we all are, because she is sooooo cute! We got to see her and her cute big brother and beautiful big sister today. These guys know how to make GOOD-looking babies :)

 

I was so proud of Lulu!!!
Last time she was upset when I just held Maya but today she didn't care AND she wanted to hold her herself AND kiss her too! She is such a good sister!
She also told the neighbor from down the street that her brother was at home ... that being Jakob of course.
It looks like we are one BIG!!!! family these days!!! LOVE it!!!

28 Days of Being Thankful - 2010

... are NOT forgotten ... we are just a bit behind, this weekend was too busy.
The Ls and Jakob have made their weekend and Monday leaves today, however we have not determined yet what they were thankful for. Update to come tomorrow!

28 Days of Being Thankful - 2010

Today L was thankful for her little sister and little L was thankful for her big sister.
VERY cute!!!! ... the leaves are still "under construction" but hopefully tomorrow they'll be done.

I am thankful for Pat's boss, since he postponed Patrick's trip to Singapore for one more week.
Postponed is not canceled but ... we are happy with having him for another week.
This way he can enjoy little Jakob running into his arms saying "My Papa, my Papa, my Papa" ... the cutest thing in the world!!!

28 Days of Being Thankful - 2010

Today L was thankful for:
"All the Helper People, the ones who help people, like firefighters, police men, emergency people and dentist - because they give kids presents and stickers and protect us and our teeth."

Lulu and Jakob were thankful for:
"My Papa, my Papa, my Papa!!!"

All three little people were really into making their leaves today! They just sat at the craft table, chatted and decorated away. They are super cute together and listening to their deep conversations is quite a treat!!

28 Days of Being Thankful - 2010

Day 2

Today L was thankful for God "because he made the world, me and my family and he made Jay for me."

[we added some more glitter and such to the leaves ... now this is more like it!!!]

Lulu was thankful for Ballet "cause I lobe ballet Mamie!"

Jakob said "I would like to just put on stickers PLEASE." 

By far he is the MOST polite child I have ever met in my life, he even says "I would like to go to sleep now, please."
I thought Jay was an example of politeness (he still is) but this little 3 year old gets me to do or give anything and everything to him just because he is so polite. "I would like to have ice cream please."
OF COURSE, with chocolate and candy on top?  ... anything for you my little man! :)
