Ohhh ... you little TURD!
My $30 Teva's :(
They survived Eddie, two years of wear while hiking, walking, wandering, dream walking and chasing after the Ls but they did not survive my 14 week old Buddy Tang.
He is such a little .... right now.
He'll sit right next to you, looking at you with his big, round puppy-rackoon-eyes like a sweet, innocent little angel.
You slip your foot out of your slipper, while telling him how sweet he is and how much you love him and ZOOM
... fast as could be, he snaps your shoe and off he takes and you find yourself chasing after that little turd, one-slippered, screaming "Buddy NO!!!! LEAVE IT!!!" and he takes off because it's the besetst game in the universe for him right now.
... oh and just in case you are saying "Just get him some chew toys" .. he has PLENTY!!!!
Oh such fun times :)

CZ Hospital is open for business
So clearly we have the BEST vet on this earth!
After checking Buddy this am and determining that he definitely is not worse and maybe, possibly even a little better, he sent us home with plan a) b) and c) and all the "tools" needed to implement each plan.
I have an IV set for hydration, oral and sub que (under the skin) antibiotics, nausea meds and written instructions for each and every scenario.
He thinks we probably won't need do open the living room ER but said he didn't want to take any chances and also wants to save us from paying $$$ at the ER for pets.
I LOVE this man!!!!! I DO!!!
If you are a Milpitas resident and have a beloved pet you MUST become a patient of Dr. Anderson at Calaveras Animal Hospital.
He ROCKS!!!!
Buddy has attacked my slippers this morning and is chewing on a toy right now ... yesterday he didn't do either and BOTH are his favorite things in the world (besides stealing underwear, preferably worn ones!).
He is looking not as sad and slept all night cuddled up to me (which he has never done before ... awww ... I loved it!!!).
So we are officially "on call" and I have auntie Carrie's number on speed dial.
L's fairy god mother is also a vet technician and will be my secret weapon should things turn sour.
Cautiously optimistic we are going into this weekend and hopefully end it with a happy ending!!!
.... sigh ...
All these praying hands have helped us so far. Keep them together for us. Will you?
xoxo

Sick Buddy
I AM NOT starting this post with "Dear God"!
Do you hear me? I AM NOT!!!
Because every time I do so it ends with someone getting wings and my (our) hearts more broken.
So this time I refuse to ask him for help via the blog.
I am pretty sure the Ls and our friends and me ... we have it pretty well covered (in more private conversations with the guy up above).
I thought something was up yesterday.
Buddy just was very sleepy and didn't attack my legs like usual but this morning it went from slow to not moving and just one look at him told me something was/is wrong!
I phoned the vet (I have them on speed dial by now) and we got in within the hour.
From the time we walked in the office they treated us different.
They didn't come to pet Buddy and when another dog came they immediately put us in a room to keep him separated.
This should have been sign enough but when the nurse took his temp and didn't give me "oh he is fine" speech I got worried.
And rightfully so!
After an afternoon at Dr. A's office it has been determined that Buddy has the parvo virus.
Not good for any dog but really not good for puppies who are not yet fully immunized.
He got fluids and antibiotics and will go back tomorrow to do the same to keep him well hydrated for what is to come.
The next few days will be hard on him (and us) and it's now just a waiting game to see how bad it gets.
If we are lucky it'll be just a mild version.
So we are keeping our fingers crossed and our praying hands folded.
The vet recommended a rice and chicken diet (if he eats at all) so I made him a batch of organic chicken and organic rice (I am NOT taking any chances with this baby of mine!!!).
Like his brothers, he LOVES chicken and actually ate the whole serving.
Water ... not so but I forced him to lick it off my fingers.
So the wait is on and the worry back in the house :(
This is the year of testing us, I swear of it!
BUT WE WILL BEAT THIS THING!!!!
And if I have to start nursing that puppy. I will not have another wooden box in my house!
NO F#$%^ WAY!!! (if you know me at all you know I don't talk like that, ever!)
So please do whatever you can, pray to whomever you pray and send us good vibes for this little bebe of ours.
He will need lots of help getting over this little bump on his LONG, LONG road of happy Buddy life head of him.
We'll keep you posed ... for now I need to sit and pet my little sick Buddy!
