Lillie's comment of the day

L: Mama, who is the President again?
Me: Obama.
L: Ah yes, Obama. Obama was at Curtner today.
Me: NO he wasn't!
L: YES HE WAS!!! I heard it. They said they are the President and Vice President.
(It comes in handy when you work at school and hear the announcement of the new Student Council introducing the new STUDENT COUNCIL President and Vice President!)
Me: These were the Student Council President and Vice President. Not Obama, he is the President of the Country.
L: Well they are the President of Curtner! What is more important Curtner or that little Country?
Me: Curtner of course! How could I doubt that :)
L: See!!!

Lillie's comment of the day

At Legoland, we are walking by one of the 100 stands offering tons of useless, expensive stuff to buy.

L: Can we go and buy something? The guy (sales person) looks so lonely there.
M: NO but NICE try L!!!

Lillie's comment of the day

Pat took the Ls to see Kung Fu Panda 2 this weekend. L was talking with Pat about the movie when she asked him:

L: What kind of Fu was it Papa?
P: It's Kung FU Lillie, it's kind of like karate.
L: No, I mean what kind of FU Papa?
P: It's just like karate. Remember you went to karate lessons?
L: Yeah I know it's fighting (and now she is getting somewhat irritated...) WHAT KIND OF FU???
P: Looking at me helpless ...
M: What do you mean, what kind of FU?
L: Well, whats the white stuff called in the sushi soup, the one that I like, thats Fu.
M: Tofu?
L: YES!!! So what kind of Fu is Kung Fu? Is that for soup too?
P / M: ... AHHHHH .... :):):)

Lillie's comment of the day

In the yard, I asked L to pick up all the toys from the lawn.

L: Why?
M: because Uciel is coming tomorrow to mow the lawn.
L: Can we call him and tell him NOT to come tomorrow?
M: Why? He always comes on Sundays. (... in the back of my mind I am thinking she'll say "because I don't want to pick up the toys right now" ...)
L: I don't want him to come tomorrow. I want him to stay home and spend Fathers Day with his family.
M: ... speechless!!!

Oh how proud I am of my L when she makes these wonderful, caring and kind comments and I know that they come from deep within her pure and good heart.

Thats what I love about my kids, they only see the good and wonderful side of life.
I am not sure how, but somehow we were able to raise them in a way that makes them think of others and not just of themselves.

Lillie's comment of the day

A few days ago L made a "silly" comment saying "I am not going back to school until you die!"
She didn't really understand the gravity of what she had just said and after I explained it to her she was VERY sorry.

I had told her that if I would no longer be here, Lulu and she would have to be in day care all day since I would not be here to take care of her ...

On the way to the Library tonight we drove by a day care and there were still a few kids on the playground (at 6:00 PM!!!). So while we are waiting at the red light I hear L from the backseat:

"Thank God you are not DEAD or Lulu and I would be there right now."

I admit I smiled a bit and was glad that my being still alive was appreciated ;)

Lillie's comment of the day

L studied American History with me.
I'd read out loud the questions and she'd answer them ...

Who is Benjamin Franklin?
L: He is money!

Who is our President?
L: Uncle Bama

What are the first three words of the Constitution?
L: Can I have it.

Who do we show our loyalty to when we say the Pledge of Allegiance?
L: Canada

When do we celebrate Independence Day?
L: on June 16, 2011
(explanation: it's her last day of school)

What is the rule of law?
L: I don't know that rule. Mrs. O hasn't taught us this one. We just have to raise our hands when we want to go to the bathroom.
My answer;  it means everybody must follow the law.
Lulu: But I am little and I am not allowed to follow strangers??!!!

... I just HAD to capture this!!!

Lillie's comment of the day

L sees the new phone we got for the house (still in it's box) on the shelf. We are getting a google-voice line for the house since our AT&T cell phone connection at home SUCKS so badly.

L: OH ... are these the new phones we get?
Mama: Yes, nice ...right?
L: I LOVE it, how many games can we play on it and does it already have movies on it?
M: NO!!! This phone doesn't have games or movies or anything, it's just for talking.
L: What kind of strange phone is that? Why didn't you buy one that works?
M: ... my wonderful iPhone generation child

Lillie's comment of the day

At night time, L is supposed to get a book for story time.

Mama: Lillie, go get a Dr. Seuss book, it's his birthday today. We should read one of his books.
L: I know it's the Presidents birthday mama, we already read his book in class today.
Mama: The President?
L: YES, it's his birthday today. You just said that.
Mama: No, it's Dr. Seuss Birthday, not the President's.
L: MAMA, Dr. Seuss IS the President.
Mama: NO, Barack Obama is the President and Dr. Seuss is an author.
L: laughing hard ... You are funny Mama. Barack ...hi-hi-giggle-giggle... nobody is called Barack.
To be a President you have to be a Doctor so you can make sure our world is healthy.
SOHOOOO ... Dr. Seuss is the President.
Mama: hmmm ... makes sense but still Barack Obama is the Presiden and now get me "Green Eggs and Ham" by the other President.

.... too much chocolate pudding for desert I guess :)

Lillie's comment of the day

We are at Trader Joe's, checking out. The nice cashier gives the Ls their REQUESTED stickers.

L: "Thank you and have a nice day Joe." (the Ls think that every male working there is called Joe :)
Cashier: "See you, have a good one!"
L: turns around stares at him and says "WHAT good one?"
Cashier: cracking up ...
Mama: cracking up ...
L: "What good one Mama? What is good?"

... that one made my day for sure :)

Lillie's commentS of the day

We went out for a family supper tonight. Here is part of the dinner table conversation between L and I:

1) The Ls were just finishing up when I whispered into Ls ear "You know, they have Ice Cream Sundays here" her lip dropped and her face turned sad in an instant; "AWWWW, I wish it'd be Sunday today. Mama can we come back on Sunday?"

2) Finally enjoying her Ice Cream Sunday on a Friday she looks at me and says "I think I have neck freeze!"
(I had made smoothies this week and when L complained about her head hurting after she sucked down half the smoothie in 5 seconds I had told her about "brain freeze" ...)

Lillie's comment of the day

L is walking out of her bedroom at 10:50 pm heading straight for our bedroom. Pat is greeting her in the hallway and is trying to "escort" her back to bed.

L: Why are you staying up so late? It is way past your bedtime.
P: When would you like us to go to bed?
L: When we do.
P: Ahhhh.... of course, so we are fast asleep at 11:00 pm and don't notice the 50 pound "elephant" sneaking into our bed and kicking us ALL night? Nice try ... off to bed now.
L: Your bed.
P: YOUR bed.

M: ... see you in about 3 hours ...

Lillie's comment of the day

L: I can not wait to play with my new HUGE race car track from Santa.
M: You don't know if Santa will bring it Lillie. You know he'll bring whatever is deep down in your heart and only he knows what it is.
L: Oh Mama, the Race Track is so deep in my heart that it almost sticks out of my back. I am sure he'll bring it!

Lillie's comment of the day

L has been talking for the last 7 days straight ... like straight through without ever stopping .... ever ... never ...
Patrick and I are at the verge of a mental break-down due to her (by now) chronic verbal diarrhea.

This is the conversation between Pat and L today:

Papa: (testing the outdoor Christmas lights) We have to unplug them first Lillie. Maybe we should try that with you some time.
L: What?
Papa: Unplugging you. Where is your cord and your plug?
L: PAPA, you can't unplug me!!! It's in my body. All my energy is straight in my liver.
M + P: stare ... In your liver? Really? Wow, we never knew :)

Lillie's comment of the day

... and one of my proudest moments, I may add!

L was getting ready for bed. I was tracing 34 gingerbread men on brown paper bags to send home to her classmates for coloring and decorating so I can create a huge gingerbread-man-chain for Mrs. O for Christmas.
L was asking what I was doing and I told her what the plan was and that I am asking all parents to donate $10 so we could purchase food and other items for the class Christmas Party and to get a gift card for her teachers so they can buy supplies for class.

This is the conversation that followed:

L: I KNOW!!! I KNOW!!! (racing to the play room to grab her current MOST PRECIOUS and MOST VALUED possesion, her $10 Gift Card from Target which the Tooth Fairy had left for her.)
L: I will not buy a toy or a game for me with this money, I will buy a gift for Mrs. O for Christmas.
M: (completely in shock!!!)   Really?
L: YES!!!!
M: WOW Lillie, this is VERY special! That is so kind of you! WOW!!! (inside I was already crying my eyes out ... my proudest moment ever!!!)
L:  And I already know what to buy her!
M: What is that?
L: Earplugs so she doesn't have to listen to the loud kids anymore because she says she feels a headache coming on when we are too loud, a speaker because some of the kids don't hear her when she says NO sometimes, a watch because she is always running out of time and pretty flowers because she loves them.
M: WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW ...

Sometimes I feel super extra lucky to have these wonderful girls in my life. This made my month!!!
I LOVE you Lillie-Bean Czarnota!!!!

Lillie's comment of the day

I am helping L's teacher out and am preparing Thanksgiving costumes (just out of construction paper) for the class. I was cutting a black oval with cut-outs to make it look like a pilgrims hat.

L: Is that what I am going to wear?
M: NO, thats for the boys. The girls will get bonnets.
L: WHAT??? WHY??? Why do the boys get to wear hats and the girls have to wear throw-up. Thats NOT fair!!!
M: Throw-up??? What do bonnets have to do with throw up?
L: Mrs. O said that that's the proper word for throw-up. Bonnet is throw up, she said that!
M: think ... think ...think ... AHHHH (light-bulb goes on ...blinGGGG). Mrs O must have talked about VOMIT.
Vomit means throw-up, bonnets are the traditional hats the Pilgrim-ladies wore at that time.
L: THANK GOD!!! I don't want to run around stinky like that. Jay would NOT like that!!!
M: I wouldn't like that either. :):):)

Life is beautiful when you have a 6year old who is learning to understand the world!!!
I LOVE you Lillie-Bean!

Lillie's comment of the day

In the car on our way to Fresh Choice for an all-CZ-girls supper we drove by the jail.
The jail always sparks great conversations but this one made me almost crash ... I was laughing sooo hard!!!!

L: Can people in jail choose their food?
M: I don't think so. I think they have to eat what they get served.
L: Yes, because they are bad so they have to eat tomato soup even if they don't like it.
Just like at school hot-lunch. Did you know you can't even chose there either. If the boss gives you corn and you don't like you still have to take it. Hot lunch and jail food are the same, they match ...right?
M: Yes, and thats why you never want to go to jail because they have to eat hot lunch there every day!!! :):):)

Lillie's comment of the day

I sneezed and L asked if I covered my mouth.

Mama: Yes, I did. Thank you for asking me ;)
L: Good, now all the germs DIE and then they go to germ heaven and live with the angles.
Mama: Germ heaven? Must be a nice place ...

This girl is so spiritual, even germ have a heaven :)
