Adios Heartos

Awww ....  Heart Day is over.
... and I am quite happy about it!!!

I can't see any more heart shaped cookies, candies, cards and whatever else can take that shape.
L came home from school with a bag full of V-Day cards and treats, it looked like it was Halloween all over again ... CRAZY!!!

But the Ls had a SUPER time and so did we.
In the last few weeks we crafted up so many LOVE creations that it just felt wrong to not post all of them combined, to do the Ls hard work justice. So here are the  ...

CZ Valentines Creations of 2011

We "only" made 35 of these wonderful creations.
These were for Ls class.

Salt-dough, of course ... ALWAYS our favorite!!!

We pulled on some "Heart Strings"

Wool and glue, mixed and then ...

Lets make some STICKY LOVE

Yup, glue was pretty much EVERYWHERE!
This one was a b... to clean up, not to talk about Lulu's hair, which was COVERED in glue.
I had to actually cut some out since it would not wash or brush out.
Next time I am getting swim-caps, the plastic kind ...

Dried, they looked REALLY cool ... plus the added sparkle, na-course!!!

This is a card we made with one of the hearts.

Oh and the "Love" game.
We are still hiding the heart and the Ls are still LOVING it.

These were some little treats Lulu made for HER friends :)
We sewed fruit cheerios into these hearts.
Such a VERY sweet love-note.

This is another one of Lulu's creations, Lollipop "gril" (girl)

And this is the state of my kitchen table at any given crafting day,
 ... MADNESS!!!

I was playing with Judy while the Ls painted more hearts (I am assuming).

Of course, Lulu's Valentines for Ms. Mandy

L's cup cake creations for Mama and Papa.
Don't ask me how they tasted,
ask Lulu ... she'll know :)

And the "Queen of Hearts" challenge.

Your royal highness, Lulu "Queen of Hearts" herself.

One of my favorites,
the Ls Paper-Back(g)-Book for Pat

We made three pull-out cards for Pat, one for each of his girls :)

If you would only know how many times we hear L say that phrase from Milpitas to San Jose alone,
you'd know how PERFECT this coupon is :)

Just as perfect, from Little Mrs. Stubborn for her Papa

I took the "Sincere Appreciation" Coupon since I could not find the "24 Hours without nagging" one :)

See the lila heart below?
We used a TP roll and made a stamp out of it.
We are just too cool ;)

L's handmade book-marks for her teachers and for GP and GM
"because they read books with over 1 million pages Mama!" :)

Love the Heart Envelopes too!!!

And then there was this one ...

 My favorite!!!
From L for a VERY special person.
The Ls made iron on decals out of plastic bags which I ironed on felt
and then L and I stitched over them (they did not stay on very well without stitching).
This one was our favorite.
We added a heart straw and turned it into a "Love Arrow".
Now L is just waiting for this arrow to work it's magic so she can finally plan the wedding :)
L

And that's all folks!
We'll be back with more hearts next year ... same time, same place (I am guessing ... :)

So bye-bye Heart Day! See ya ... off to better things!

... which I am told will be ordered via Vodo any time now and I am supposed to come and watch it with the man.
If it's not the noise of the computer fan thats bugging me and keeping me from blogging then it's the marriage that is needing attention. I think I need an assistant ;)

Guys ... dinner's on the table!!!

To celebrate Heart Day BIG we decided to to have "Bucket Night" tonight.

We got the idea when we were down in Pismo Beach and had supper at the "Cracked Crab".
One of their special dishes is "A bucket for Two" which is dumped on your table.

So tonight it was "Bucket Night" at the CZ residence and what fun it was!
We threw together an easy combination of veggies, sausage, fresh bread and dip ...

et voila ...
dinner was on the table

L and I took over the table decorations ... oh so pretty :)

I must be a romantic, I wrote my husbands name in sweat peas AND I added two hearts.
I'll be your mustard if you'll be my ketchup ;)

L's creation

The spread

The rule was NO utensils, no dishes and one MUST make a mess!
Given the fact that the Ls table manners are almost non-existent, this worked out very well.
There was no crying, no fussing and no fits, just a very happy dinner :)

Lulu's creation

Oh and then there was LOTS of LOVE going around of course. L declared "this is the funnest dinner ever" and Lulu just wanted to hold hands and say "we lobe eachodder" :)

Sister-Love

Clean up was quite easy ... everybody was fighting to do the dishes :)

Oh and then we had to have desert., na-course.
Pat and the Ls had brought home a little Chocolate Fondue Set yesterday and it was put to the test tonight ...

Result ...

YUMMM ...

Sweet smile

The closing ceremony was a duet dance by Lulu and her Ariel doll.

Sealed with a kiss ... and off to bed they went.

And if this damn laptop docking station's fan wouldn't make this incredibly loud and VERY annoying sound while I am typing, I could write more about the evening and the fun we had but I already banged that thing 20 times on the table and if I do it a few more times then it'll probably just fall apart right then.
Not that it matters much since its about to die anyways but ...grrrr ... could it just die silently and with more dignity. Nobody wants to hear it moaning and groaning like that. "... some people have to blog; you know!"

Not so hidden message for Pat: FIX IT!!!! ... or it'll need a spot under the Willie Tree soon!
