right now ... I am TIRED!
On these crazy days time is not just running, it's RACING past by us in super-sonic speed.
Between schools, art lessons, grocery shopping, washing one load of laundry for the third time because I always forget to move it to the dryer and remember it three days later, PTA meetings, putting up the new canopy (after the one from last year flew away after 3 weeks) ... there is just no time for anything else left.
right now ... I love looking at the pictures below,
because this afternoon the Ls and I had the pleasure of enjoying a nice afternoon in the shade of the new canopy, having sweet treats and just being the Ls and Mama.
Just thinking about it makes me smile :)
right now ... I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Art Volunteer Job!!!
BUT I also miss our slow and easy days of doing not much of anything, messing up the house with yet another craft project, moving furniture, ripping out carpets and destroying the kitchen (without giving it much thought about how it would be put together again).
right now ... I miss making things.
I miss making yoghurt, home cooked meals (that were not made up last minute), I miss sewing and watching my Lulu dancing in one of her new dresses I made.
I miss doing arts and crafts with MY kids. They now have to wait until Mama comes to school and gives them a lesson.
I miss crocheting ... I think that pillow for Great-Grandma will never be finished.
I miss reading my Kindle.
I LOVE this book that I started in JANUARY and I still have not finished it.
Every time we go out of town I pack it, every time I go to a park or have a second to do nothing I take it ... but then art lesson planning, supply orders, schedules, grocery lists, dentist appointments and 5 year well check ups take over my brain and my thoughts disappear in this jungle of to-do-lists and things to definitely remember (but which are often forgotten somehow anyways).
right now ... my eyes are pacing up and down the calendar.
While I sit here and post (something I MISS too!), listening to my Ls and my favorite "Mumford and Sons" I can not stop myself from counting down the days until school is out and we have the leisure of doing NOTHING for a little while again.
I know that two or three weeks into this so much desired and longed for freedom they will drive me CRAZY and I can not wait for summer programs to start, but for now the thought of sleeping in, pancake breakfasts in the garden, staying at the pool until the wee hours and not worrying about homework and classes, snack-schedules or school lunch menus sounds OH SOOOO GOOD!!!
right now ... I am constantly on the run.
I feel like a hamster in his little hamster wheel ... running, running but never getting anywhere.
Every time I drop off my Lulu at pre-school I freeze and stare, with my heartbeating out of my chest, at the snack schedule, praying I didn't forget to provide snacks for the little guys.
With L that would have NEVER happened.
The snacks were prepped, decorated, napkins folded ... now I am happy I remember at 10 pm the night before that I need to run to the grocery store to pick up the items and then drop of the plastic bag on the teachers table, yelling "hope I didn't forget anything" on my way out the door to run another errand.
Or I send the husband who cluelessly drops off Lulu with a huge handbag full of make-up on her shoulder, which she then tries to apply to the entire class.
Or she sneaks in something in her pockets or bucket. We basically have to strip search her before letting her go to school.
right now ... I realize that hiding things high up, on top of the microwave, does not proove to be a sufficiently high enough place for things to keep away from little (almost 5 year old) hands ... as she has showed us today. She climbs up there like a Mountain Goat.
Sugar addicts are very stealthy and have spy-like abilities.
right now ... I need to stop blogging and spend 5 minutes with my husband, which is more than we usually get on any given, crazy, super-sonic-speed day in this crazy life of ours.
And while I do that enjoy some fun pictures of our oh-so-fun afternoon.
So lovely!
Melon Faces :)
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my silly Ls!!!!
My lovely garden!!!
YES, this is a cucumber ... I shall not jinx myself by being too excited about getting a cucumber plant to actually grow and look healthy for once ... BUT LOOK AT HER!!!
Sister - Time
Chatting about getting married, being Ninjas and wanting to swim with dolphins.
Next year this dream of L HAS to come true!!!
Most of the time I hear them fight "You took my candy you stealer!" , "Mama, Lucy hit me!" " Did NOT!" .... so I love to linger in these moments of sisterly love-bliss and dreaming about their future, in full color and with so much imagination.
Planning your life with your Jay and Nicholas is just so easy and fun when you are 7 and 5.
Just for one day I'd love to have back this easy way of thinking without walls, rules and constrictions, of dreaming if full color and of the world being just good or bad ... nothing in-between.
Open Season ... first supper outside.
"And then, when I get married ... "
"I dink I want a lila dress!" (I think in Lulu)
"What if Nicholas will not marry me? OH NO!!!"
"I'll just put the ring on his finger and then he can't say NO anymore ... easy!"
"Yes, thats what I'll do with Jay. Ring on and done!"
Good night world ... the next crazy day is already calling us.
