Monsters vs. Earthquakes

A 6:4 Earthquake shook the Milpitas Monsters this morning.

It shook them BAD ... REAL BAD!!!

The Monsters put up a good fight but nothing could prepare them for such a strong opponent.
We were snack family today so I was on-site to witness the defeat and more ... first hand.

Here is our first-hand Earthquake destruction report ...

The Team was well prepared with nutrition and sugar provisions.

Post-Game Relief Efforts aka Snack Bags

On the way to the game ... not aware of the "disaster" that was awaiting us.

#10 in best form, as we know her.

... and so it began,
ouchie # 1

Still fighting hard!!!

Nice action shot!!!

#8 aka Hector to the rescue

ouchie # 2

On the other field, Isaac gives it his best shot!
That boy has a fearsome kick!!!
He has caused several injuries on the field with his power kick.

Monster-Line-Up

NICE sprint #10 ... she is  SMOKIN FAST!!!

#10 surrounded by the "enemy"

and there it was,
 BIG ouchie #3

OUT for the rest of the game :(

#10 stepped on the ball and fell straight onto her knee which
"hurt REALLY, REALLY bad Mama!!"

Shaken by the Earthquakes and broken down, L watched her team lose :(

Personally I think her pride was more hurt than her knee.

These Monsters are not used to losing and they give up quite easily if faced with a stronger opponent.
Tears roll, cleats are stomped into the grass and tempers run high when they are not having the upper hand.

The post game line up for a quick Monster Team picture

The Earthquake Relief Packs came quite in handy and made the defeat
... almost ... bearable.

Except for one MONSTER mother who threw my snack bag, which was filled with whole wheat cheese crackers, a Mandarine, a Yoghurt and a small bag of M&M's, in the bottom of her stroller and told her son "We don't eat that kind of stuff!".

As I said, a true MONSTER mother!
I thought that my bag was better than the Rice Crispy, Gummy Bear and Candy filled bags I had seen before but ... apparently I had not gotten the sack-bag-law memo.

I will stop myself from writing more about this. I might tell you whats REALLY on my mind about this MONSTER mother ... for the sake of my blog and the few people who read it and who may think that I am actually a nice person.

Off to blow off some steam ...

Monsters vs Pumas

The Monsters were in GREAT form today and destroyed the Pumas with a score of ...

Our #10, todays Forward AND Goal Tender, scored a whopping 4 goals (it would have been 6 if the goal would not have been missed twice).

She also wins MVP of the Day since she protected the Monsters goal with body and soul (this is definitely a genetic inheritance from the VW owner), stopped an incoming ball just at the post, took the ball, cut across the net, RACED straight along the sideline, leaving the Pumas in the dust, cut across to the Pumas net and then SCORED a super goal.

The coach reports that she was running so fast, the Pumas didn't stand a chance.
People were cheering and jumping in the stands (aka on the sides in lawn chairs and on blankets :)
And she got a HUGE applause when she put the ball in the net.

Way to go # 10!!!!

She celebrated BIG with a chocolate pudding cup and then left the playing field, fighting her way through the fans, her bodyguard (the VW owner) on her side.

After a short autograph session she reached the protective safety of her home (which is 5 minutes from the soccer field) and is now resting her super soccer star body and is getting ready for the after party (aka her soccer buddy b-day party :)

Monsters vs Hot Wheels

Todays score:

10:1 for the Monsters
(the 1 goal for the Hot Wheels was scored against the Monsters by one of our own champions ).
4 goals out of the 10 were scored by nobody else but our #10, Lillie-Bean Czarnota herself!!!

L came home with a big smile and huge chocolate stains on her uniform from celebrating with Chocemolega "Chocolate Granola" with her team.
This makes the tears from last weeks  4:3 loss to the Ant Eaters almost bearable :)

Here are some action shots of L during practice

YES, this is what differentiates #10 from the rest of the team, her "outstanding" hand-position during dribbling.
This is how you score people, you just look like an Albatross trying to take off and then you SCORE!!! :)

Monsters vs Earthquakes

14:0 for the MONSTERS!!!
#10 (aka L) scored 5 out of the 14 goals.

We found the shirt at H&M. It says Monsters Unite! How perfect is that?!

Great Game Monsters!
You ROCK!!!!
