I am # 8

Boy ... she is breaking the poor tooth fairy's bank.

Another one bites the dust and now she has 4 matching "holes" ... perfect for eating 4 spaghetti noodles at the same time :)

I am # 7!!!

STOP GROWING UP already!!!
You are going too fast my LOVE!!!

A very happy L is sleeping and dreaming of her Tooth Fairy, very excited to see what she'll leave for her.
I know L will love and be thankful for it.

Almost as thankful as I am for our 24 hour Safeway at 12:22 AM ...

Dust in the Wind!

Ohhhh ... these days are CRAZY!!!

We are trying to get ready for our HIGHLY anticipated trip to my beloved Tucson and things just come up and cramp my already full schedule even more.

Yesterday, at 8:40 AM, we had one of those moments.
L and I rushed out to "do some business" as you may call it. #2 was coming and didn't know where to go.  So we had to ask a buddy of ours to help #2 and show her the way to a better, more open space.

Huhhhh???? .... what is she talking about???
Hee-Hee ... I LOVE being mysterious :)

#2, as we call it, is L's second new tooth coming in.
It has been hiding behind that half loose baby tooth for quite some time and that dumb, old thing did NOT want to get loose and come out. After we waited and waited and waited ...
we finally went back to the Dentist and poor Lillie-Bean had to have yet another tooth pulled.

No biggy, right! We've been there, done that!
Ha ... if only so!

This one was playing "hard to get" and gave us a bit of trouble. It just did not want let go.
After a somewhat painful numbing process the doctor had to wiggle and jiggle it back and forth,
twist it and turn it and finally just RIPPED that thing out.
I bet he had sore biceps today.

My poor child had to lay there, with me kneeling next to her, in between dental equipment to hold her little, shaking hand, calming her little nerves and secretly trying to keep her from yelling at the dentist.

Thank god for these suction thingies.
You just can't really understand what the patient is mumbling, especially while under the influence of nitrous oxide. I sure hope he didn't take her "go away" mumbles too personal.

The last time she came out of the procedure room with a huge smile and her tooth box in her hand.
This time she jumped out of that chair and wanted to get the hell out of there!
She grabbed her balloon and the first toy that she could find on the way (usually it takes her 15 minutes to select the best out of the 20 offered 1 cent toys)  and then she was G-O-N-E!!!
Outside she just said "This was NO fun!"
My poor child!!!

What the ... , can't these dumb teeth fall out like everybody else's teeth do?
Like get stuck in a cucumber or in a bagel, I'd even go for swallowing them or heck even puking them out?

But NO, we have to be "special" and run to the dentist for $380 procedures every two months and that is to pull out the old ones, make room for the new ones, which will require even more costly procedures and torture my poor L with metal grills for years to come.
Our prognosis is: braces for SURE! ...erghhhh!!!!

Neither of us were impressed with that morning and the Tooth Fairy sure had her work cut out!!!

After

Bye-bye Mr. Mean Tooth.
All you are is Dust in the Wind!!!

Prepped with the purple sack, which L placed  in the tooth shaped box, which she then packed in the Tooth Fairy pillow, with the Tooth Fairy poem on it, Mr. Mean Tooth was nicely placed on top of the headboard and was ready for "pick-up".

I had my camera ready for the "morning after the tooth fairy came" shoot.
That, however, turned into a 3:12 AM wake-up call by L, who proudly and LOUDLY stood in front of our bed, demanding the light to be turned on IMMEDIATELY so she could inspect the Tooth Fairy goodies at once.

I somehow forgot to take pictures. What was I thinking?
I guess I was too busy trying to pry the gift out of her hands, while kicking my sleeping husband gently, yet still forcefully, several times in his shin so he would get up and push L out of the door and BACK into her OWN bed, where she was to sleep until a more godly hour (like at least 6:00 AM!!!).

So no pics of her fairy dust covered, sparkling face or her happy, toothless smile, while she was opening her Lego Camp Car set (which she had on her b-day wish list AND on her Santa list!!!).

This Tooth Fairy really knew her business though and provided much needed happiness after such a painful good-bye from our old "friend" Mr. Mean Tooth.
This camp car was VERY well deserved!!!
She also left a little something for Lulu, since she had been brushing so much better lately.

Fairy Amarina (the Mermaid Tooth Fairy) left behind a sweet note (with a few water dribbles all over the paper ), lots of fairy dust all over both Ls and a very happy Lillie-Bean.

Thanks Amarina!
I hope our next encounter originates by losing #3 naturally.
Our hopes are small, we saw the x ray and it doesn't look very promising,  but one can always pray for a miracle ... or a VERY  generous Tooth Fairy ;)

The Night the Tooth Fairy Tickled my Nose

After the tooth was safely stored in it's MANY, MANY safe places the MAGIC happened.

L came racing into our bedroom at 6:00 AM shimmering from head to toe in sparkling fairy dust.
It was everywhere, in her hair, her face, her arms ... on me, the bed, the pillow, the floor ...EVERYWHERE!

Erin the Tooth Fairy (apparently they have several and Ls was Erin of Ireland???) had come, spilled her fairy dust all over my child and my house and left behind a wonderful envelope with many goodies for our little toothless girl (she calls it her "empty tooth" :)

Erin, the Tooth Fairy came and left a little something for L

Please note the "Click here to  ..." fields on the left hand side.
Erin must have had her Fairy Lap Top with her. BAD PDF file I guess ...

She also left a note for L.
She congratulated her on her dentist visit and for being so brave. In fact she let L keep the tooth since she was such a Brave-Heart. I must say she DID deserve it!!! Good call dear Erin!.

She also left a New Tooth Care Kit and some explicit instructions on how to keep that new tooth shiny and healthy. She told L that she smiled in her dreams and that Erin had tickled her nose (she just could not resist, she said.). L said "I knew I felt something last night!"

Here are the goodies.

Erin was so cool, she even left a LILA Toy Story tooth brush for Lulu.

Oh and L got a $10 Target Gift Card. Erin said she knew that L was staring at the race car tracks at Target last time she went there (this girl hears and sees everything!!!). This is the COOLEST Gift Card ... it comes with a Lego set to build the Target Dog.

L was super excited and bounced up and down all day ... still sparkling like she fell into a WHOLE tub of Fairy Dust ;)

She bounced and bounced ... until it was time to pick up THE  ...

Hasta La Vista Baby!!!

And so it shall be done. That was the motto this morning.

We had been sick and tired of him and his stubborn ways. Always holding on to something that was no longer his and never ready to let go.
We tried to tell him and show him that we had enough of him and it was time to go.
But he would not listen, Oh NOOOO ... he didn't listen, NOT him.

So this morning we took things into our own hands (with some help of a trusted friend) and just ended it right then and there.
No more arguing or debating, no more negotiating. We had had it with him.
Mr. Stubborn, Mr. Never-Let-Go, Mr. Major Separation Anxiety.

It's over, done, we are through!!!

This was a process that took weeks .... heck it was like pulling teeth. Literally ....

It's easy to let go if you have a replacement on hand ;)

After

L's tooth would not come out!!!
It held on for dear life and she got quite tired of that HUGE PAIN (according to L) that she felt every time she tried to eat. Especially broccoli soup was VERY hard to eat this way ;)

Off we went to see our wonderful Dr.C who took care of business.
A funny nose (laughing gas), a bit of needle-icing and a quick pull and the SUCKER was OUT!!!!

The tooth was quite attached to the front gum line and would have not come out on it's own very easily.
The neighbor tooth is doing the same funny business and will most likely go the same way :(
The guys across the street (upper front teeth) are doing it too and since the new buddies are ready to pop through soon L will have to have these pulled too.
These "shark teeth" have NO room in her big ...I mean little mouth and are coming in all wrong :(
That totally sucks!!!

But L did GREAT!
She was quite nervous (and so was I) but she made it through like a BIG girl .. the laughing gas helped too ... she giggled the whole time while he was numbing her.
Once she felt a pain when he gave her the needle but he just said "Oops, I am sorry, that was my finger."

When we left L said to me "It didn't hurt at all Mama . But his fingers - I don't like them. He needs to cut his nails!"

Of Course!!!

No comment needed!
She can wink SO good!!!

Thanks to our MOST wonderful FGM we had the exact purple sachet with the gold trimming and rope on hand that the Tooth Fairy's fairy friend made for her so the kids could leave the tooth in this sachet, thus making it easier for the Tooth Fairy to find the tooth.

Thanks to our wonderful Dentist Dr. C we then could place the tooth in the sachet in the tooth box that he gave us.
Now the Tooth Fairy only has to look for the tooth box, then find the sachet and then find the tooth. Still making it easier for the Tooth Fairy to find the tooth.

Thanks to L's wonderful Mama we also had a VERY fancy Tooth Fairy Pillow on hand.
Now we could place the tooth in the sachet, the sachet in the tooth box, the tooth box in the pocket of the Tooth Fairy Pillow, which then was placed into Ls bed.
Now the Tooth Fairy only has to look for the Tooth Fairy Pillow, find the pocket, find in the pocket the tooth box, then find the sachet and then find the tooth.  POOR THING!!!

Honestly, I am worried she'll give up the search for this one, itty, bitty, tiny, little baby tooth after looking for it for hours.
I am so glad we can't understand Tooth Fairy'ish ... I am sure it won't be pleasant to listen to her tonight searching through Ls bed. :)

And off I go ... the Tooth Fairy is calling for her search dogs already. I better help her with her hunt for the tooth before she'll post "Most Wanted" signs all over Coyote Street :)
