Lulu's outfit of the day

I know I have posted way too many of Lulu's Rambo-Look pics.
.... but I just can't get enough of it. She looks so stinking cute!

I just love her independent-style!!! She is that person who doesn't care what others think or do as long as she likes what she is wearing or doing.

Wiggly Dancing

... lets do some Wiggly Dancing ...

Almost everybody with kids 5 and below knows that song and the "band" that comes with it. THE WIGGLES!!!!

The Ls have been asking to go and see them forever. We already took big L once when she was younger so to make things fair (which I am a BIG believer in ... one gets exactly what the other ones gets!!!) we had to go once more to let Lulu as well experience the wonderful Wiggles live and in action.

The Ls get usually to hyped up about things like concerts and special events so that we decided to make it a surprise and not tell them at all about it. It worked very well! No pre-show melt-downs out of excitement and no 1000 "when is it Saturday" questions.

This is how they looked when we told them (while we are standing in front of the HP Pavilion in San Jose where the show was) what they were about to see ....

What??? For real??? The Wiggles?  Right Now???

Yeahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lulu, as always, dressed in style!!! We told them to get "all fancied-up" and we'd just go out and have some fun. L thought we'd go to Home Depot (the Papa-play-store as she calls it) ???

They were screaming and jumping ... one could have thought the Beatles were in town again :)

For our part, this was hopefully the last time we saw these 4 middle aged guys in very tight pants and super bright colored shirts singing about fruit salad. I was in physical pain listening to them ... last time I found it much more exciting somehow???? This time, all I could think of was a nice, big, fat alcohol-rich drink afterwards to wash the pain away ...

BUT the Ls had a great time and thats what it's all about. Here are some pics of the Ls having fun at ...

"The Wiggles World Tour"

Lulu getting her "groove-on"

The #1 Wiggles Fan of San Jose!
... this lucky lady snored two rows in front of us during the entire show.
I was so envious!!!!

L singing her heart out.

The NEWEST Wiggle, Sam. ... aehhh ... not liking him so much, Greg was much better!!!

Me "enjoying" the show

Pat trying to make it through one more song.
... just one more song and it's all over!
Oh please dear God help me!!!

Our favorite Wiggle, Jeff Wiggle. Here shown as a blueberry ...

Lulu after the show

L after the show ...

The Ls  fell into their beds and no peep came out of their room. They must be dreaming about "Dorothy the Dinosaur", "Rex the Dog", "Henry the Octopus" and lots and lots of Wiggly Dancing.

Sweet dreams my little sunshines and lots of happy, wiggely dreams!
... and may you remember how gracious, heroic, how giving and unselfish your loving parents are the next time you throw a fit and fight over a cup, a straw, a piece of paper, a napkin, a pillow or any other, very important items.

Lulu's outfit of the day

7:56 PM .... just when I thought there wasn't much to blog about today Lulu came out and said "Mama look what I am wearing!!!"

Oh yes my dear hubby, this too shall be revealed. There are no secrets in our blogger-family.
I very much like Lulu's combination, Princesses meet Iron Man.
.... a match made in heaven or better in Milpitas, CA.

To his defense, these studly and steaming hot, sexy speedo-style Iron Man  undies don't get as much wearing action as I wish they would. These are the default "when are you going to do some laundry honey?" undies ... and if it's a hockey morning he'd rather go naked than wearing these. I totally think the guys would appreciate the effort but Pat begs to differ on this one.

Lillie's comment of the day

Watching "Diego" Rescue Backpack asks what Diego could use to go down a waterfall. He has 4 options ... the glider is the correct one of course but first he offers a phone.

Rescue Backpack: "Can you use a phone to go down the waterfall?"
L: "Yes, if it's an iPhone."

... Apple should pay us for this one!!!

At Random

Our days are back to normal and some sort of routine has set in again.

We started morning school work to get L in shape for Kinder and to refresh her memory after this way too long break from learning. Since Lulu seemed very into it she is now working on her own little work sheets and does VERY well. She is so particular about things and very detailed oriented, quite the opposite from big L who goes for speed and quantities. She can do her math problems in minutes but you can hardly read her results either because she scribbled them too fast or she wrote them backwards.

Swim class follows at 11:30 am and could not be a minute earlier because thats when the sun usually starts to poke through the clouds for the first time and you can finally start taking your fleece sweater off.
I feel bad for L having to jump into the "cold wet" but she doesn't mind it at all. Water is her element.
She just mastered the dolphin kick and is mighty good at it (of course I say that!!!).

My poor Lulu "flunked-out" of swim class for this session. She did so well the first round but this time around swim coach Alex just didn't cut it. They told me they call kids like her "screamers" since she didn't stop crying all the way through the 30 minute class. My come-back to the managing 14 year old swim coach was A) she just hangs off this guys back the entire class and doesn't get involved at all since the second kid in her class is way past her swim level and B) ... she just doesn't like the guy.
We'll try again for the next session next week ... I hope she gets one-on-one training again and will be happy in the water again ... my gut tells me she is more that Princess Singer/Dancer kind-of-girl but who knows maybe she too will win an Olympic Gold Medal like L will, as she keeps telling us :)

Lulu also mastered riding her bike ... something just must have clicked in her little, sharp brain ... she is like a new kid. No more diapers, full conversations (I don't know many 3 year olds who say  "Oh my God, it's totally dark outside"  ... she is growing up way too fast!!!), school work and now riding her bike. This whole growing-up-thing is getting quite serious!!!

She rode all the way around the block today ... way to go Lulu! She looks like a little BMX racer!!!

L is getting so good on her Running Bike ... she can balance very well now. She is asking for a big girl bike, a Toy Story bike of course.

This afternoon we did some more harvesting ... zucchinis again, what else??!!
We processed all of them and froze 8 bags of 2 cups each .... enough shredded zucchini to provide all of Milpitas with zucchini bread for a week.
L decided she wanted to bring some for the swim teachers. Maybe we can buy ourselves some one-on-one lessons for Lulu for next session with some home baked zucchini goodness. I fear however that nice,  fresh dollar bills would probably go better with these teenagers ...but oh well ...

So we made a new batch with a new recipe ... this time no coco powder, instead we used shredded walnuts.
The result was just perfect for my German, semi-sweet taste buds and the ls LOVED it too.
Pat opted more for the previous coco-sweetness ... sorry man, you are out of luck ... outnumbered yet again!

I ripped out three of the zucchini plants. We have ENOUGH for the next few months and still one more plant producing. More room for new broccoli. Next year we'll stick with two plants, that should be plenty.

Stir-Fry ready ... just freeze and get it out for the next "what should we have for dinner tonight" moment.

L hard at work.

These are 10 zucchini breads and 3 stir fries right there. I need a bigger freezer, the tomatoes aren't even red yet and that thing is already full!!!

The result ... I wish there would be an "add smell" or "add taste" button.
I am sure my mom is so proud of me right now ... me baking all on my own.
My mom is the family baker and marmalade maker (I actually think she a marmalade-maker-addict but nobody wants to confront her ... mainly because we all love eating it so much :).

Taste-Tester 1 gives her approving smile.

Taste-Tester 2  chomps down and ...

hmmm ... zucchini-bread-heaven!!!
Got Milk?
