Almost everybody with kids 5 and below knows that song and the "band" that comes with it. THE WIGGLES!!!!
The Ls have been asking to go and see them forever. We already took big L once when she was younger so to make things fair (which I am a BIG believer in ... one gets exactly what the other ones gets!!!) we had to go once more to let Lulu as well experience the wonderful Wiggles live and in action.
The Ls get usually to hyped up about things like concerts and special events so that we decided to make it a surprise and not tell them at all about it. It worked very well! No pre-show melt-downs out of excitement and no 1000 "when is it Saturday" questions.
This is how they looked when we told them (while we are standing in front of the HP Pavilion in San Jose where the show was) what they were about to see ....

Lulu, as always, dressed in style!!! We told them to get "all fancied-up" and we'd just go out and have some fun. L thought we'd go to Home Depot (the Papa-play-store as she calls it) ???
They were screaming and jumping ... one could have thought the Beatles were in town again :)
For our part, this was hopefully the last time we saw these 4 middle aged guys in very tight pants and super bright colored shirts singing about fruit salad. I was in physical pain listening to them ... last time I found it much more exciting somehow???? This time, all I could think of was a nice, big, fat alcohol-rich drink afterwards to wash the pain away ...

The Ls fell into their beds and no peep came out of their room. They must be dreaming about "Dorothy the Dinosaur", "Rex the Dog", "Henry the Octopus" and lots and lots of Wiggly Dancing.
Sweet dreams my little sunshines and lots of happy, wiggely dreams!
... and may you remember how gracious, heroic, how giving and unselfish your loving parents are the next time you throw a fit and fight over a cup, a straw, a piece of paper, a napkin, a pillow or any other, very important items.
