I have spent the last week or so watching the History Channels recap of the American History (thanks to Netflix), studied the book and made my poor husband test me over and over again.
Quite to the contrary of what I had expected, I found the history rather interesting and very full of life.
I used to LOVE history in school, especially the Greek and English history.
I never though that I could get into Presidents and Settlers BUT we did watch it and we found it very interesting ... up until they started eating each other, thats when I drew the line.
Pat and I argued over it for almost an hour and I stomped off to bed all mad it him, because he said "in a life or death situation people make decisions others can't follow unless they are in the same circumstances".
"We'll I would NEVER eat my children or you!" was my answer and off I went, pouting and all.
The next morning we woke up, looked at each other and said "Did we really argue over if we'd eat the kids? Thats just silly!"
Pat's addendum to the conversation was "I'll take the big one ... she'll feed me for at least a few weeks." :)
Anyhow, it's over now. Thank God!
And YES, the security guy at the INS pulled out everything in my purse, all cards out of my wallet AND pulled out my "back-up-tampon" and inspected it.
Seriously??? Did you have to?
What would I do with it?
"Give me my stamp of approval now!
I warn you, I have a tampon and I am not afraid to use it!"
???
After I took a deep breath and succumbed to fact that I don't have to worry about this any longer (I procrastinated this for 5 years!!!)
I enjoyed an afternoon with the Ls doing this ...
It's really nice now that I have a little helper-buddy, who can actually "WORK" for me :)
L is getting very good at bringing out the garbage, hanging laundry and bringing the compost out.
A six year old can be rather useful in the house :)
To say it with Erin's words:
"If you can walk you can work!"
I watched the DORK, with his pink ribbon, running through the grass like a bee had stung him.
He LOVES this piece of fabric???
There is a reason why we call him "Dork"
I tell'ya :)
I watched Lulu running through the house, pretending to be a dragon.
And then we had some girl time, sewing and chit-chatting.
It felt like a scene out of "Pride and Prejudice".
Mother and daughters sitting in the Ribbon Room, mending and stitching, waiting for the men to come home from hunting ... or in our case for Pat to come home from engineering ;)
L did her own design and worked on it ALL BY HERSELF!!!
It's a surprise for GP and Omi, so I can't show you the results ... yet!
I was working on bookmarks for Ls teachers as a good-bye gift from her.
L drew the picture and I have to outline it and then turn it into a book-mark.
I already have one of my own with Lulu's drawing and LOVE it!!!
Lulu joined in on the fun and tested herself, for the first time, in sewing (still with a plastic needle ;)
She did SUPER well!
Then we welcomed our new, little worker-worms for the compost ...
And after a healthy vegetarian supper (YES we are STILL DOING IT!!!) we all spent an hour or so doing this ...
Lulu on my Mac watching "Ant Bully"
Pat and I on Pat's PC watching the Canucks getting their butts kicked big time ...
And L was in the living room watching "Batman" because "I am into that stuff now Mama."???
Three different shows in one house at the same time ... writes she who vowed to NEVER own more than one TV.
Well we stuck to it ... we just use the computers instead ...
So this is it for today.
It's been a while since I posted something.
I was starting to get blog-withdrawls :)
