{this grateful moment}

There are many things I am most grateful for this year.
Many, many, many!

But as I found myself today lounging in the "sunroom" (formerly known as playroom, office, studio, messy room, ...), L playing the piano and Lulu was reading me her new favorite book, while I was playing with the loom I realized that the most precious thing, the one thing I am most greatful for is

T-I-M-E

Just time to do nothing, time to be, to hang out and enjoy the company of my Ls and my beloved husband, friends or simply a good few pages to red with my Meow on one side and Budster on the other.

Time is the most precious, most valued item in this house right now (besides health and love na-course).

This year has been such a busy year for us.
We have worked so hard, on this room, the kitchen, the house all over, Pat at work, I at school, the kids in class, learning piano, swimming, reading ...
It feels like we haven't stopped moving ... EVER.

Pat took me for my b-day to my beloved Sorenson's and all we had was time.
No plans, no schedule, no places to see or to be at.
For once we got up and just did as we felt.
Rare and precious!

So as I am trying to write my annual Thankful4 post I truly feel that I am most grateful for time.

Time with my family.

Time to:

... tell them how much I love and care for them,
even if it's as simple as cutting out a heart and hanging it over their bed to find before they hit the pillow.

Wishing you AND us lots of time to be, to enjoy and many moments to be grateful and thankful for.
Wishing for myself that I have less moments of regret and fewer sentences that start with "If I had only ...".

Life is too short and sometimes, with a blink of an eye, everything changes.

One should always look back one more time, before leaving one place to go to another, take it all in, remember the way they sit at the table waving good bye, remember the look in his eyes when you left him at the vet thinking "I'll have him back tomorrow!" but tomorrow never came.
Yes life is too short. Take your time and don't waste a second!

Remember the way she looks as she walks through the airport security gate because the next time she will be even more grown up than she is now.

Remember the giggles coming from the girls rooms, playing with their horses or pretending to be Ninjas.

Remember how her thick fur feels between your hands and how she follows your every step, sleeping next to you for over 13 years and her love for food, na-course.

Remember to phone more often and say "Hi" and "I love you.".

Remember to appreciate friends and to give back twice as much as you receive because giving is so much better than receiving.

Remember ... every second of every moment because life goes by quickly and rather than asking for more time when you have reached the end of the road, enjoy the time you have traveling the road and take many breaks, smell the flowers, rest, listen and take many pictures of the journey ... to never forget.

Happy Thanksgiving my friends.
If you read this please know you are very much appreciated.
