I think I lost my blogging-mojo, again. My computer is very lonely and my camera is laying forgotten on the counter, waiting for me to pick her up and take her for a fun ride again.
We are getting the hang of things again and the back-to-school-trauma has been overcome.
After a few frantic calls to 1-800-HELP!!! (aka GP CZ) he has successfully convinced me that I am not going to ruin L's life by sending her to public school and that indeed she will become a wonderful citizen and will have all the opportunities in life that we want her to have. All she needs is love and parent involvement, respect for others and the rest will come on its own. ... phewwww ... I can breathe again.
After watching him trying to hide his chuckles via skype pretending he had an itch or something I figured I was completely overreacting and the only person in danger (of losing her mind that is) was me.
So we are following his suggestions to chill-out, don't worry so much and get involved in her school.
I am now volunteering once a week at L's school at the Parent Involvement Center, have a class volunteer position and am also assistant teacher at her German School every Saturday. This way I can observe her at school, see her teachers and kids and if she ever gets into trouble (like she ever would, right :) I'll be first in line to know about it.
Another thing we are doing now is having lunch-dates will Lillie-Bean.
Last week Pat came home for lunch and all three of us had lunch with L and her class mates.
Poor "mean-lunch-teacher" has her hands full ... getting 30 5 year olds to eat their lunch within 20 minutes is a very DAUNTING task!!!
Anyhow, after we dropped off L at school this morning I asked Lulu what she would like to do today and she said "Can we have lunch with Lillie?"... ahhhhh ... my girls are happy together again. I am in heaven!
For a while there I thought they'd never like each-other again and my wold was completely destroyed.
My contestant answer has always been "All I want is family peace!" :)
Last week L found this in her lunch box
Lulu returned the secret message from L to her with this sweet note :) and today she asked to surprise big L by visiting during lunch.
Awesome ... so we packed a lunch for Lulu and marched on over at noon to surprise Lillie-Bean with fresh fruit and some lunch company. She had the biggest smile on her face and hugged Lulu like she hadn't seen her in years.
So all is well in CZ land again and we can start relaxing and having fun again ... if we have time to do so :)
