Today ... I was glad we went from this ...
(The moldy-fungus that was hidden behind the tub wall covering has to be my favorite!!!)
... to this over the last three days.
Today ... I was glad that I somehow was able to make this yesterday
(... in between remodeling, dumping the Ls and Dork at aunty Michelle's house and then running back and forth and back and forth to Home Depot).
... that I got this ...
... to send it off to Ls new teacher this morning (buttering her up na-course :)
Today ... I was glad the Ls had crafted these last week piece by piece ...
... and I got to hand them out in the morning, just like any good German Mama would :)
Today ... I walked my big L to school to watch her become a 1st Grade student!
Today ... I was glad to see her proudly showing off her new Star Wars lunch box.
Today ... I hugged my big L extra tight because she was VERY scared and worried about this big change.
Today ... we met Ls new teacher, Mrs. Attkisson in Room #5 ... and liked her!
Today ... I walked back, with just one little hand holding mine and telling me about her dreams.
Today ... I brought my little L to Pre-School for her first meet & great and to bring flowers to her teachers.
Today ... we were so happy to see our very much beloved Mrs. Tang again and to see her become Lulu's pre-school guardian/teacher.
Today ... I had to take my big L out for a treat to make the 1st. Grade jitters go away.
After I picked her up from school she broke out in tears and proclaimed "I will NEVER go back there again! There is no play-time and recess is REALLY short!"
Today ... I had to buy the UGLIEST shoes I have ever seen!
I had bought L new, awesome and $$$ Keens 1 month ago.
She wore them today and limped back home complaining about her feet hurting.
When we took off the shoes at home I could see her bruised, squished feet and realized that her feet had grown (after measuring them at StrideRide ... they had grown 1 1/2 sizes LARGER!)
Upon arrival at StrideRide she saw these UGLY Darth Vader shoes and HAD to have them, no talking her out of them ... NO WAY.
The sales lady brought us all kinds of variations in shiny pink or blue with sparkles but NO WAY JOSE, she would not leave the store without these "things".
... now this is "the look"; kaki school uniform dress and black Darth Vader shoes.
Pat's comment: "WOW COOL!!!"
Also I should mention that she pulled that same move in the store, while I was talking to one of the HD guys, but she had her hands in her pockets and pulled the entire dress open (snap-buttons ALL the way down) and then stood half naked in the isle, only wearing her panties and turned BRIGHT red.
I was so proud, my baby streaked for the first time ;)

Today ... I had to run yet another time to Home Depot to get more items I can neither pronounce nor do I know what they do or where they'll go.
... but by now I have figured out that if I just start wandering the same isles up and down and up and down and have the look of a damsel in distress on my face, at least three very helpful but completely clueless Home Depot sales guys will come up to me and offer their help.
Jean-Pierre from yesterday was especially kind and kept asking me, in his charming fresh accent, where I was from and other personal questions.
My "Thank You" to his assistance was replied with "Je vows en prie belle dame".
Thanks Jean-Pierre, I haven't been flirted with in a long time (especially by a "slightly" overweight Home Depot sales guy (sometimes dreams DO come true) but unfortunately I still got the wrong item ...
Today ... I watched my Issie pulling a Marilyn Monroe fan dance in the middle of the Home Depot aisle :)
Today ... I made the mistake of letting the Ls eat their way through the Zuckertueten after we came home and then ...
... asked L to do her FIRST home work, which resulted in this ...
Today ... I am REALLY tired and still have to get the house ready for tomorrow, for the window-guys to come and replace all the windows. They will join the bathroom guys, who are still installing the bathtub and Pat who is in charge if walls and laying tile.
But no worries, it'll only have to be completed by FRIDAY since my sissie is coming to visit and we BETTER have a bathroom by then ... plus we'll be really stinky by then!
Right now ... all I want is to take a LONG and hot shower and GO TO SLEEP!!!
Good-night world!!!
