Summer Scholar this week

Today the weather was rather cool and we hang out at home (after the morning swim session) and just took it slow.

The Ls got new puzzles for quiet time.
I had printed words on Ls puzzle (on the back side of each piece).
Before L could try to assemble the puzzle she had to read the word on the back side of the piece and then  she could turn the puzzle piece around and look for a place for it.

Lulu just tried to assemble her "elephant" and that was challenging enough for this summer scholar.
I have the feeling she doesn't enjoy this whole summer school thing as much as L and I do ...

L created a report on cats today.
We took Zoe to the vet this afternoon and our awesome vet gave them the whole run-down of cats.
Poor Zoe had to get shots and the Ls were rather concerned but Dr. Anderson even talked them into watching and gave the royal "10-9-8 ..." count-down ... poor Zoe!!)

It's "Animal Week" for us so we made a fish-bowl spinner.

And then L discovered that one of her onions in the garden was ready for harvesting ... she could not wait to chew it down (I sweat this is a CZ trade!!!).

Not much else is growing in the garden this year.
It's such a slow season, not even the zucchini produce much this year :(
Just lettuce and kohlrabi and I still have hopes for the tomatoes but thats about it.
I have 6 crippling cucumber plants trying hard not to die and one even has a miniature cucumber on it but it looks more like a chernobyl victim as do the "fancy tomatoes".
Maybe I should not talk german to them???

Not much more to report from here BUT the next edition of the Flat Ls is already in the press and almost ready to be "published" so don't give up on me yet!
