28 Days of Being Thankful - 2010

Last year we started a new CA CZ tradition.
We counted down the days to Thanksgiving by creating paper 4's [as in Thankful 4], wrote a note on it for what we'd be thankful on that day and then hung them in the kitchen.
By the time Thanksgiving came around the window was covered with all these wonderful, colorful creations of the girls and their thankful notes. They were so much fun to make, to look at and to read.
I still have the whole pack from last year ... I just can't make myself throw them away.

Here is the whole bunch of 2009 Thankfulness of the Ls

L was Thankful 4 her Jayden (to no surprise!)

Here they were Thankful 4 the Nutcracker
(I can't wait to take them this year, especially Lulu!!!)

Megan ...awww. We miss you girlie!!

Baby Carter ... he was soooo tiny last year!

This year we'll be doing the same, of course ... we have to!!!
Yesterday we made special colored paper out of paper grocery bags.
(we even put little Mr. Jakob to work
... hey, it's not all fun and playing over here, you'know ;)

We painted the bags, after we had crumbled them up, with red, green and yellow, added some metallic paint for the shimmer, an old toothbrush was used to add dark brown paint splatter for "real" leaf effects.
I found this in the Family Fun November Edition.

I really like the look!

... and today we created the first three leaves (L, Lulu and Jakob).
After I pulled out the "4's" from last year tonight I decided that more sparkle and personal touch is needed for each and every "Thankful Leaf" since the ones from last year were so pretty and colorful.
We'll work on that tomorrow!!!

And with this it is my great pleasure to introduce to you the November Highlight of the amazing, world famous, spectacular and gripping Necklac-Lee Blog ;)

28 Days of Being Thankful - 2010

L's Thankful Leaf for today
 She was thankful for Halloween
(she wrote that while peaking over at the Halloween candy :)

Lulu's Thankful Leaf
She is Thankful for her Jakob

here is why ... they really LOVE each other and play so nicely, take care of each other and are best buddies it seams. So cute!!!

He was making cappuccino for Lulu and she was making "smanwich" for him.

The KISS!!!

and Jakob's leaf ... he just wanted to color his pink.
VERY nice work my little man!!!

From now until Thanksgiving I'll post whatever the Ls and Jakob are thankful for ... this should be a fun series!!!
