Prologue
As soon as we landed in Tucson, last Sunday, it felt like we were coming home.
We have lived in a few corners of this world and we call many places home but deep in my heart I feel that the CZ family belongs to Tucson.
The desert has some mystical powers over us and just being there for minutes made me not want to leave ever again.
I am completly and utterly in love with this city and it's surroundings, the people and lifestyle.
We sure had a SWEET life here!
From the 2300 sqft. house, in a brand new community, with water park, kids train, mini golf, a lake, ... to the Private International School with a Full Immersion German program (even if this school comes with a completely retarded director who destroys this wonderful school and with that a wonderful opportunity for the kids and the parents), a MUCH slower pace and a much more relaxing atmosphere.
A small city that just fits into the landscape with not too many high rises and lots of nature around you.
Wildlife is everywhere (many of these creatures are a wee bit poisonous but one gets used to the thought after a while ... or you hire an exterminator and ask him to move in with you :).
Mountains surround the city and desert oasis like Sabino Canyon are plenty, if you look hard enough.
If it gets too hot in the city you drive up to Mount Lemon and all changes within minutes.
Climate, temperature, vegetation ... within 20 minutes you leave the desert and end up in a pine forest and if you wait for the winter you can ski your little heart out and freeze your little butt off.... totally CRAZY!!!
And the sky, the beautiful desert sky.
I have never seen more beautiful sunsets, bigger clouds (especially around monsoon season) and more colorful rainbows (sometimes double or triple images).
The nights, OMG, these beautiful stargazing nights.
Shooting stars everywhere, the stars look so clear and so close, you feel like you could just grab them with your bare hands.
The smell of the desert after the rain, the sounds of the desert at night with the coyotes howling and the crickets chirping and the owls "owling" or whatever they do :)
Yes, I am in love with Tucson!
So at this point you should have noticed that, BOY-oh-BOY did we have a GREAT time!!!
I don't even know where to begin. I mean it was ALL GOOD!!!
All of it, every ittly, bitty, teeny, weeny second of it!
