Buddy Tang

Things just happen ...

Just like Dork, this little ball of razor-sharp teething, crazy and silly cuteness just fell into our laps.
Just like Dork he needed a home and we had an empty one.
Just like Dork he chases the Ls through the house, plays with anything and everything, LOVES to eat cat-sh... and is rather interested in the chickens :)
Just like Dork he won Pat's heart with one lick (followed by a GOOD bite :).
Just like Dork he is a band aid for the hurting hearts in this house.
Just like Dork he has two speeds, fast and faster.
Just like Dork is is going to drive me crazy ( in a VERY good way).
Just like Dork he is so darn cute and one look at him just melts your heart and makes you, for a little while, forget what happened this week ...
Just like Dork this little Buddy found us and now we are onto a new journey.
Dorkie's chime is singing like crazy, I hope this is a welcoming sign. I feel a little like cheating on him. We weren't quite ready for a new journey but ... hey this is the way things happen in this family!

Pat is out buying more liquid bandaid and Iodine (we need it  ... those TEETH!!!).

Welcome to the fam Buddy Tang Czarnota.
I am sure you'll keep us busy for some time ... VERY busy!!!

Me: Look babe, he is so cute!
Pat: Yes he is. I can't wait to see what's wrong with him.
Me: WHY???
Pat: What? Like we ever had a normal animal in this house.
Me: Well this is our chance ... maybe we are lucky :)

The VERY best of friends!

Some people just come into your life for a very special reason and they do nothing but add to your happiness and well being.

We are very fortunate to have such special people in our lives!

Our dear Mrs. Hanzie delivered this VERY special present to us today.
When I met her this week for our "crying session" I had told her about the Willie Tree and how the Ls had hung chimes so they could hear Willie's spirit running through the yard.

So now we have another chime for our other angel.

The Ls didn't want to hang it next to Willie's chimes because they wanted to know who it is thats visiting and they wanted the chime to hang at Dorkie's favorite spot, right next to the swing set, in full sun. He actually had started to turn brown because the sun had bleached his fur from laying there all day.

And look who came right away to visit, big sister Meow.
She has always fought with Dork over his bed and she usually won and slept in it all day.
Not once has she been in it since Dorkie ...

Thank you so much dear Hanzie family!
You guys are so good to us!!!

L's comment: "Mama, the chimes are singing and singing. We are so lucky, now we know we are not alone and Eddie is here!"

My dear Cynthia; you saw her at the park, very quiet and sad, wanting to go home right away with a tummy ache.
She has been sitting there and looking at the chimes and it somehow made her feel much better.
My poor L misses her best buddy so much and has been such a sad, sad person.
Right now she is actually smiling a little.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Here are Willie's chimes ... still singing :)

And then there is this little guy ...

Our dear Mrs. Tang's friend just happens to have this "spare"fluff ball that her son brought home from a play date. Her older dog doesn't think much of the little guy so she was going to bring him to a rescue organization tomorrow.

We'll go and visit this little fur ball tomorrow, even if just to let the Ls play with him for a while.
You never know ... everything happens for a reason.

Dorkie fell into our laps the same way and it was all meant to be the way it was.
Maybe this is also part of the big plan.

We already planned to get a new fluffy baby but we wanted to wait and let our hearts heal first before we would try to find the new member of our family but ... maybe he has already found us?

Thank you Mrs Tang for thinking of us!
I just spoke to Penny and she is as nice as could be!

tiny smiles

Thank GOD for Vacation Bible School!

The Ls had a reason to leave the house every morning, it made me get up and do what needed to be done instead of just hiding under the covers, pretending this week had been just a really, really bad dream.

Today was their last day and we need to thank everybody at CC for the hugs, the prayers, more hugs and all the warm and kind faces.
We saw our Mrs. Dunn and Mrs. Tang and got extra hugs and smiled from them.
You two are just so awesome!!!!

We LOVE you guys!

At Sports Camp L had lost her special sweat band and was in tears.
Mrs. Dunn grabbed her hand and took her away.

5 minutes later L came back with an arm full of teddy bears and a sports camp cap (which SHE LOVES!!!) and with a HUGE smile.

This is how awesome these ladies are!!!
Thank you for loving my Ls like they are your own.
I gladly share them with you!!!!

The Ls loved VBS and today I even saw some tiny smiles when they said good bye to their leaders and friends.

THANK YOU all for your kind words, prayers, phone calls, to our Marriotts for keeping us out of the house and keeping us company, thank you my dear friend Cynthia for meeting me for coffee and shedding some tears with me ... you are such a good cry-buddy :) and to everybody who was in thought or person with us this week.

It meant a lot!!!

Now we need to just make it through the weekend ...

"It is better to have loved and lost ...

... than to have never loved at all.
~ Alfred Lord Tennyson

A lonesome rose in the window, just where Dorkie used to wait for Pat to come home.

Nobody at the door to greet us overly excited.
Nobody to race over to eat the dropped goldfish.
Nobody to walk the chickens through the yard.

Even Zoe is wandering around, looking very lost and coming near us (something she never does).
Everybody is hurting!
What a shitty day it has been.

I tried to sweep the kitchen and all that I saw was Dorkie's fur ... so much for that.
After one box of Kleenex later (and Pat's shirt)...
Made a mental note to phone the doctor tomorrow to schedule my heart-removal.
I's too broken anyways ...
I am so done with saying good bye to my 4 legged kids.

The Ls are very up and down.
L is just angry!
I haven't seen her so angry, ever.
We tried to talk to her but she is very closed up and says "I am ok. I am over it!"
Right on girlie!

Lulu is talking a lot about him but she doesn't quite understand it yet (thank God for that!).

Just a shitty day, thats all I have to say!

There is no pill in this world that can take this hurt away.
He was just here, with me, by my side, looking as dorkie as ever and now he is gone.
Just like that.
Dust in the wind.

Life sucks sometimes!!!

Good night my sweet, little, wonderful Dorkie.
Hope you had a fun first day in doggy heaven with my Willie boy!

You two make an awesome couple, underbite fluffy-head and dorkie happy-go-lucky Dork.
Heaven with all it's angels must be laughing and laughing and laughing ... glad somebody has reason to!

And just FYI God, I think I met my quota!
Please knock on another door if you need more company up there. We have nothing left to give!

xoxo,
A very sad Dorkie Mama

Angel Dork

My phone rang at 8:30 am this morning, we were hustling to get the Ls ready for school.
I missed the call and L came running "Mama, Mama, it's the vet!".
Anxious to hear the lab results I phoned right back.
When they answered they didn't tell me the results but asked me to hold, the Doctor wanted to talk to me.
I knew right then things weren't good but I didn't expect to hear what I heard.

Our Eddie had passed away last night.

The vet went on and on about the diagnosis and how he is treating two other dogs with the same condition but I had stopped listening after "passed away".
I just stared, numb, at the floor, unable to move or think.
He noticed and told me to phone back after we had collected our thoughts.

30 minutes later we all went to the Vet to see Dorkie one last time, touch him and say our good-byes.
It all felt like some part out of a movie, unreal and unbelievable.

There he laid, wrapped in blankets, his head popped-up by his favorite blanket, looking like he was deep asleep.
One touch though and you knew he wasn't sleeping. His little body was cold and stiff and there was no Dork there, just his lifeless, little, black furry body, but my Dork, he was GONE.

You know God, you may think I can deal with all of this but let me tell you, I CAN NOT!
3 years - 3 losses.

First my Willie, my forever dog.
Then the baby, that itty heart that stopped beating.
And now our FAMILY dog, the one my Ls LOVED so much, the one MY HUSBAND loved so much, the one that HEALED MY BROKEN HEART after Willie.
Really, it's a bit too much!

The timing is just like Willie's was.
Monday vet : " just an upset stomach, by tonight he should be better"
Tuesday (back to see our vet): HM.... this is a head-scratcher. Can't move his hind legs very well, very low body temp, spasming, no food intake, severely dehydrated. Let's keep him and run a blood test and do x-rays. Maybe he fell and hurt his spine?
Wednesday (8:30 am) He is GONE.

Diagnosis: Addison's disease , a very severe and aggressive form of it.

Again we had to order a little wooden box and again we had to go home with a collar and leash, no Dorkie.

So this is all we have left, his bed, his beloved sheep, his leash and 4 very hurting hearts!

Thanks to the Marriotts we didn't enter the house until late tonight.
Jay kept the Ls busy and happy and from thinking about ...

But when we came home there was nobody at the door, no howling contests between L and Dork, no chewed up toys and no shredded tissue boxes all over the yard.

We lit up the fire pit and pulled out the old books we still had from when Willie had left ..

This time L read it to us .

And I read them the other beloved story.
I deeply believe Willie was my forever dog and I always thought I couldn't love another dog the way I had loved him.
But judging by the tears and the broken heart that hurts so very much I'd say that my forever dog just got a forever dog-brother.

And while staring at the fire I wandered into memory lane ...

Rest in peace my love!
Do know that you were a big part of our family and you'll be forever in our hearts!

Willie's ashes went to his most beloved spots, the beach, del valle and his tree but you will stay where you loved it most! HERE with us!
Your Papa has reserved a nice space on his night stand for you so you can always be near him, just like you like it!
And a Rose will be in the window where you would wait for him to come home, every single day!
Your Papa missed you when he came home tonight. Nobody to jump all over him, happy to see him and to be with him.
His eyes are red and his heart is hurting for he lost his best friend today ... we all did!

Good night my little Dorkie! Sleep well and have safe travels to Doggy Heaven.
Just keep a look out for the little guy with the wagging tail and the huge underbite. It's your brother Willie and he'll be taking care of you from now on until I can take over again.

See you up there my LOVE!!!

Good bye my friend! Good bye!!!
