Dorkie comes home

I have been so busy with the Ls and their fighting, Buddy and his distraction business (currently he is chewing up my underwear which he stole out of the laundry pile ... the dirty one!) that I didn't even have much time to be sad about my Dorkie.

But when I went to the vet today to "pick him up" I completely lost it and just sobbed like it's just had happened.
The poor assistant didn't know what to do and neither did I or the Ls.
I just packed up my little wooden box and ran to the car.
My sweet L was so worried she started singing her church song (which she is practicing at voice camp this week) "Jump for Joy" and asked me to sing it with her and then I cried even more :(

But at least my Bubbie is here with us now and the decision as to where to "place" him was an easy one.
He loved his Papa more than anybody else.
He waited for him on the couch every single day, looking out of the window, listening for that sound.

He would sit on the couch forever waiting to hear the car.
He could hear him from a mile away, I swear.
He could hear the car from a mile away and then just stood at the door, crying for Pat to walk in ...

Once he saw his Papa he couldn't contain himself and just "jump for joy" ... there is Ls song of the week :) and run and cry and bark, so happy to see him.

While we opened Willie's box and brought his ashes to all the places he had loved so much I knew that this one would stay put and be where Dorkie loved being the most!
Right next to his Papa!
He slept with Pat, right at his feet, and wouldn't even look at me when I begged him to snuggle with me :(

I still had the Valentines card Eddie had made for the cats and framed it and put it next to Dorkie.
Pat has been OH SO VERY busy and has not had time to even come to terms with Dorkie being gone.
He said that Eddie was the first dog he had truly loved (sorry Willie, but I loved you twice as much!!!).
I know he misses his little furry friend and the one and only who looked up to him and recognized him as his alpha ... the rest of us just boss him around.

So my Dorkie will stay next to his Papa forever and he is forever in our hearts and minds.
His chimes sing every day and it makes my heart happy just to hear these sweet sounds!
I know he is here with us and I know he would love to chase Buddy around the house.
He'd be such a good big brother!!!

I miss you my sweet Dorkie!!!
Have fun running wild in doggy heaven and some day I will come and pet you again and you can growl at me and show me your pearly whites and it'll be like the good-old times :)

xoxo
Your Mama, Papa and your beloved Ls
