Obviously Fleetwood Mac has not been in my house ...
8:20 am; I am opening the door of the bathroom and instantly STALL in my steps ... GINORMICA is looking at me like "What? I am just checking out the inside of your coop. Not bad!"
AHHHHHHHHH ..... OUT, OUT, OUT!!!!
NO CHICKENS IN THE HOUSE !!!!
8:30 am; I hear Chicken screaming like these are her last 5 minutes on earth.
When I race outside I find her UP HIGH on the yard fence, right NEXT to the GINORMOUS cactus.
I race over, worrying we'll have Chicken ala cactus in a second and rescue her into my loving arms. This was the first time I actually got to hold her and she, being scared to death, just sank into my rescuing arms and put her head right into my hand.
POOR Chicken!!!
I brought her back into the coop and all three are now hovering in their house, reliving the last, surely most exciting minutes of their chicken lives.
Ginnormica and Buddy had a few play matches.
The winner?
Guess!
She is twice his size, this little guy does not scare her and she is a very good alpha chicken and protects her little feather flock quite well!
And there she is, staining in full, white, fluffy beauty. Meow!
She, of course, wants NOTHING to do with this little, annoying fur ball and just shows her pearly whites to him, which he, of course, takes as an instant invitation to jump at her, begging to play.
Nada my friend, there have been many more before you who wanted to play with her and had nothing but a scratched up nose to show for.
9:00 am; L wakes up .... THANK GOD, puppy relive!!!!
Where the last few days have been spent sobbing and moving very slowly through the house, not knowing what to do and tears coming and going at any given time or moment, triggered by coming home, dropping food, seeing something blacken the floor ...
... now the minutes and hours are spent running after the puppy, trying to save the house from total destruction while keeping the little guy entertained and happy at all times.
Yesterday we took Buddy for his first walk to the park.
The Ls and Bud were running and playing and he loved every second of it.
He loves everybody and will follow whoever walks by him.
When the Ls took off with their bikes he cried and wanted to race after them.
It was a good outing and we all felt like we could breathe again.
Our hearts feel lighter and there is laughter in the house again.
The Ls prayed last night and told Dorkie all about his new brother.
We sit and listen to his chimes VERY often.
THANK YOU again Cynthia!!!
I look at the sunflower and hear the chimes sing and my heart beats much faster and I can feel my sadness go away a little, every time I hear their sound. I know he is here with me and always will be and the chimes are just the prefect reminder!
Thank you my dear, dear friend!!!
Buddy needed a good bath after the park date ...
... and then just crashed.
He seems to like Mama's slippers and every time I stand still for a second he plops down next to me and lays his head on my shoe :) Cocking has become a bit harder ...
And even the Ls crashed.
Lulu almost fell asleep waiting for her favorite dish Pasta with Brown Butter and Mizithra cheese (I know somebody is smiling right now :)
So the days are getting better, little by little and Buddy is such a great distraction from the heart ache we suffered that I now believe God truly put this little boy into our laps for a reason.
Thank you Mrs Tang!
You changed our lives in an instant when you sent me the email!
Do know that we all thank you and Penny so very much for entrusting us with this little fluff ball!!!
Off to keeping puppy and the Ls out of trouble ... it'll be a LONG day :)
Hi Buddy! hope your having a great time with your new family including the chickens, must be exciting!!
